so it's day 184 running this project with my co-founder. before that i did a lot of stuff for others. mainly marketing as you can imagine. i did social media mostly for others, hired VAs, trained them for others. anyways details don't matter. but i had to unlearn, re-learn, and learn completely new things.
we needed a lot of time to find a process flow how to work with each other. this btw took us 3 "failed" projects and several months of collaboration. we both have other responsibilities and are doing this journey on the side, that's why things just take 10x longer. maybe this is an excuse that i personally tell myself all the time, not sure, but it keeps me calm somehow.
anyways, let's talk about the current project, ecomdesignlab. as you read before, the 3 other projects failed, so this is officially our number 4. i feel most comfortable with this one tbh, because i did a lot of ecom back in the old days, when no one had a clue what ecom even was.
things are not completely new to me, when i see them. i have rough feature ideas, rough understanding of the audience, because i was one of them. at least that's what i think. we launched i think 3 days ago, and still have zero paying customers. but i am not worried about that. I kind of try to be more "neutral" about failures. sometimes it works, sometimes not so. haha. you know how it is.
i spent a lof of time on the LP, probably too much time, but i want this project to be perfect, because i have the feeling this could take off. i did some marketing on facebook groups, did some tik tok, youtube, instagram. i basically try to throw as much stuff out as possible to see where things will stick.
people talk about strategies a lot, they plan things to every little detail, but thats not my style of doing, i never did that, i never will. i just try to get as much done as possible, the "detailed planning" comes later, when i ate some shit, when things go wrong, when audience reacts, when audience doesn't react. planning can happen in my opinion with feedback from the market, especially in marketing. without proper feedback from the market, you're basically in the dark.
what do you do when you are in the dark? you sense yourself forward, right? you touch things, you check where is the wall, where is the door, but without touching the wall, you don't know where it is, right?
i see it similarly with marketing. i try to touch the wall currently. maybe this example doesn't make sense immediately, but give it some time to digest in your thoughts.
anyways.
i am writing this, while preparing some good food, today i forced myself to not work, but to just write this blog post. yeah, i have to force my self not to work sometimes. I don't know if you have the same, but i just enjoy the journey currently, but on the other side, my body also needs some rest.
not sure how i will structure my blog posts, how arthur will do it for his blog posts, but mine will probably not be as structured as arthurs, just my gut feeling :D haha.
see you in the next one.
